Snoop
Wohoo! It’s that time of year. Yes, the Big Day Out has announced who they’ll be bringing to our shores this January. Festival organisers unveiled the showstopper line-up this morning and you can expect Pearl Jam, Arcade Fire, Blur and Snoop Lion/Dogg!
And naturally, TheFIX were straight in there to bring you Snoop’s first post-announcement interview.
We had a quick fire five mins with the US rapper. Check it out:
What the best thing about touring?
“The best thing is definitely bringing the music to the world and touching the people.”
Is there anything you miss when you’re on the road?
"I miss my family when I’m on the road… My wife the Boss Lady and my babies. As well as coaching in my football league the Snoop Youth Football League."
Whose left you want to collaborate with?
"I want to do a song with Sade."
Who are you listening to at the moment?
"Right now I’m listening to a roots reggae mix my homeboy made for me."
You’ve had a long career. What’s your secret?
"There is no secret. Hard work and a good attitude go a long way. Having a good team around you is very important too. Teamwork makes the dream work!"
Is retirement ever on the cards for you?
"Retiring? Why I gotta do that? I’ll keep bringing my music to the people as long as their ears are to the speaker."
And lastly, what can we expect from your Big Day out performance?
"You can expect a great show and a great time. But I can’t give you my secrets!" So, here's the line-up… for January 17 at Western Springs:
Pearl Jam, Arcade Fire, Blur, Snoop Dogg, Major Lazer, Steve Angello, The Lumineers, Tame Impala, Dillon Francis, Mac Miller, Ghost, Grouplove, Flosstradamus, Portugal.
